What is stone veneer?
Stone veneer is manufactured stone designed to mimic real stone. Molds are developed using natural stones that are handpicked for detail, texture, and color.

Why should I use stone veneer instead of actual stone?
Stone veneer is preferred to natural stone because it is lightweight and easier to install.

How heavy is stone veneer?
Stones weigh approximately 8-12 lbs. per square foot.

Does stone veneer fade after long-time exposure to sunlight?
During manufacturing, color is blended throughout the entire stone using mineral iron oxides, which also give color to many stones in nature. After years of weathering, stone veneer reacts much like natural stone, fading slightly but exhibiting no undesirable color changes.

In a typical application, will two of the same stones appear side by side?
Having thousands of stone molds virtually eliminates the possibility of repetition. A typical application can cover 100 square feet without repeats, and no two stones are cast with identical coloring.

What kind of surface is suggested for installation of stone veneer?
Stone veneer can be applied on nearly any surface that is properly prepared, cleaned, untreated, and structurally sound. Wood, wallboard, masonry, or metal is suggested.
